USAG Week 4

This week I was sick. So USAG wasn't the best it could have been. Here's what we did, anyway.
Also, I'm doing something new. It's called

A New Post Every Saturday.

Yes, every Saturday. I promise I won't forget, just like I have been recently. Ha.
So...on with the pictures!

For this week, I had paper plates, a straight, rectangle piece of cardboard, and yarn. I also had some toilet paper to use as kleenex because my nose was runny.

This was me. The entire time. I was so tired. I really shouldn't have been running a club while I was sick.

I had the girls go get sticks twice as long as their stuffed dogs (which I told them to bring) for the dog travois. I would have gotten the sticks myself, but I was dead. So I took a nap while they were gone.

When they came back, we made a dog travois loosely following these instructions (scroll down a bit to find it). For any confusion in the pictures, I blame my sisters. I was not up for photography. Being sick is literally the worst.

Then we began weaving. There are tons of tutorials online for this. For the long rectangle carpet, I used this picture-tutorial, and for the circular carpet, I followed this tutorial (scroll down a bit to find it). Hopefully you can get the idea from my pictures.

After marking the spots, I punched holes in.

Tie a knot here.

 Pull it through...
 To make this shape.

Pinch it all together here and tie a knot with some other string, then cut off the excess. this will help it stay centered.

Use a piece of string about the length of your arm to start weaving.

Start weaving it. Under, over, under.

When you reach about here, you can either tie on another piece of the same-colored yarn as before, or you can tie on a new color.

For the rectangle, to 10 holes on each side, and pull yarn through under-over, side to side. You can also add different colors to this one.

I don't have any finished work, but I'll try and get some posted when one of the girls actually decides to finish.

Then the girls had soccer practice, and we had to stop. We never got to the treat or discussion, but I was sick. I didn't care.

Next week, we will hopefully finish on time! And now that soccer season has ended, we have Saturdays free to do USAG or a Doll Post. So prepare!
