To kick it off, we told each other what our full names were, their meanings, and how we got them, and the dolls went as well. Of course we already knew the stories, but it was fun to hear them again. I think names are so intriguing, don't you? Besides, the two youngest heard some stories that they'd never known before.
We also told each other who our heros were, and who our doll's heros were. There were some surprising "My hero is Samantha" and "My hero is Kirsten" comments from the dolls.
Then we filled out these worksheets. They were really quite fun. We helped each other figure them out.
We had our discussion on the book as we filled out the sheets.
Then we went and got our treat - "Finger Cakes," we called them. Only they were actually just two graham crackers with frosting in the middle.
While we ate, we palyed a game. For lack of imagination at the moment, I called it the "What Gift Would You Get? Activity." Basically, one person is chosen to be "Swan Circling." Then they have to tell each person the gift that they would give that specific person if they were actually Swan Circling and had died and why. For instance, I would give my youngest sister my jewlery, because she is a glitzy, cutesy girl and would put that jewlery to good use. However, you have to give them something that you actually own right now. Like, it's in your house, Or in your possesion. It was surprisingly fun.
