Cassandra Hatton is a bright and intelligent girl. She was born on March 4, 1925, making her story take place in 1934. She lives in Dayville, Oregon. She enjoys playing outside, baking, reading, singing, learning about botany, and someday wishes to run a farmhouse with her siblings, where she can bake biscuits while her oldest brother makes gravy. She's the advice-giver in the group, mainly because she's so happy all the time. Except when she's mad. Cassandra has a large family with three brothers and a kindred spirit of a sister, so she has learned how to keep her food safe for long periods of time.
